В Москве в лекционном зале Постоянной Промышленно-Показательной Выставки В.С.Н.Х. (Неглинный проезд, № 13, 4-й этаж) открывается цикл лекций «Фотография в науке, технике и искусстве», сорганизованный Русским Фотографическим Обществом. Первая лекция этого цикла, прочтенная проф. Н. П. Тихоновым, собрала довольно многочисленную аудиторию и прошла весьма удачно. В предварительном кратком историческом обзоре, лектор сообщил много еще не опубликованных подробностей из младенческого возраста фотографии. Далее был показан ряд применений фотографии в самых разнообразных отраслях науки, после чего лекция была закончена обоснованием понятия фотографии художественной, фотографии, как искусства. Лекция сопровождалась демонстрацией диапозитивов как научных, так и художественных фотографий. Лекции читались по понедельникам до 14 мая 1923 г.
